I wanted to write a quick guide for those who are interested in starting a Facebook business page or those who have one but don’t know how to utilize this amazing marketing tool. I would like to share how I run my page: www.facebook.com/AshleesBouncyCastle/. Please note that I do mostly backyard parties and this is my PERSONAL marketing strategy for my Facebook page. This guide will be designed to get you on the right track.
Step 1: Set up a Business page for your company. I would not recommend using your personal page for your company. You will not be able to take advantage of the advertising tools Facebook has available.
Step 2: Treat your Facebook business page as a virtual store front for your business. This will be the cheapest storefront you will ever own. A customer will make a judgment on your business within seconds of seeing your business page. They will look at how many “Likes” your page has. Lots of likes = trustworthy company, legitimate company and will also build customers confidence in your company. Another thing a customer will do is read the “Reviews” on your page. Try your best to obtain as many 5 star ratings as possible.
Step 3: You need to create your branding for your business. Hire an experienced graphic designer to make an awesome logo and a professional banner. Remember this is your virtual store front lets make an awesome impression on your potential customers. Invest into your branding I cannot stress how important it is. Otherwise what the point of spending all this money if no one is going to remember your company name.
Step 4: Dont have to many likes? Or just starting a brand new business page? The best way to kick start your page is doing a “Free Bouncy Castle Contest”. Make a photo album of all your best set ups to display to potential customers. Ask the customer to 1) Like your page 2) Share this post 3) Tag 3 friends they would invite to their party if they won. I will post a picture below of my contest from this year. This is very effective marketing strategy early season to get people talking. Don’t forget to “Boost the Post” with $20-$200 dollars. This will build a buzz around your page really quickly.
Step 5: Who is our target market? Well if you are doing back yard parties like me its “females” between the ages of 25 – 45. We want to targets moms that wants to give little Johnny the best birthday party ever.
Step 6: Once you start getting busy you want to start taking pictures of all your set ups. Choose a day of the week to do your advertising. We advertise every Monday on Facebook. We will put up a post about “how amazing the weekend was for us” “Super busy” “great to meet new customers” etc. You want to let the customer know that you are very busy which in return creates a sense of urgency for the customer. It also lets other potential customer see your awesome set ups and makes them want to book. This creates a band wagon effect. Everybody uses Ashlee’s Bouncy Castles. They are so busy I should get my booking in now!!
Step 7: You want to be continuously in front of your potential customers. I would recommend running a continuous ad for 5 dollars a day. You can do this by boosting a post or advertising as a local business in your area. You want people to see your branding even if they just scroll by it. When the time comes and they want to rent a bouncy castle they will see your company and recognize it.
I think of advertising on Facebook is like fishing. If you can put a 5 dollar AD up and get a 245.00 booking that is a win in my book. If you read this far good on you. If not I totally understand. I hope this guide will help anyone that is having difficulty with their Facebook page. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask.
